2-Minute Mindfulness Guided Meditation – Autumn Glow

Guided 2 Minute Mindfulness Meditation with Nature Photography – Autumn Glow

Do this for you. Take two minutes out of your day to slow down your breathing, de-stress, release any anxiety/tension, and give your mind a mental break. Being in nature and/or looking at nature photography can provide countless benefits. As I discussed in my first ever post, research shows that spending time in nature, or even just looking at it through photography can reduce stress, depression and anxiety, slow down breathing, lower heart rate, and much, more (disclaimer: please note that I am not a Doctor or a licensed professional in this field. Without further ado, let’s start to unwind.

Wherever you are, take a few seconds to get as comfortable as possible, and focus on your breathing.

Inhale for 4 seconds.

Hold your breath for 4 seconds.

Release your breath for 4 seconds.

Repeat this 2-3 times. Close your eyes for a moment if that feels right for you.

Now. Take a look at the photograph and imagine yourself in the following environment:

Visualize yourself walking through a forest along a dirt trail.

The air smells like warm spices, and the sound of birds chirping fills your ears.

Leaves crunch underneath your feet and your eyes absorb the vivid autumn colors all around you.

As you continue on, what else do you sense?

Sit and contemplate this scene and focus on your inhale, hold and exhale for as long as you are able. As you go throughout your day (or if you find yourself up at night), come back to this photograph, the scene you created in your mind and your breath.

This is a great mindfulness technique, it really helped me slow down and take a break!

I so needed this today! I’ve already practiced yoga twice this morning but I need to remember that meditation is equally important for destressing.

I love mini breaks like this throughout my day. It’s crazy that I don’t realize how short my breaths are until I consciously do a deep breath in and out. I need to be more conscious of doing these throughout my day!

Fall is my favorite season, so I really want to make sure I enjoy it while it’s here since it doesn’t last super long. This is the perfect way to do that. And that photo…pure heaven! That is my ideal environment right now. 🙂

This is a great exercise! I’m having a rough day and decided to try this when I read it. I’m calmer now already 🙂

I loved this. I took a few meditation classes at Wanderlust Stratton this year and it literally changed my life. I look forward to more of these from you — you have a very soothing and relaxed vibe!
